Picked another cucumber today, looked like an elongated pear. There are more growing so they’ll be ready in about a week. I also notices several small aubergines growing. I’ve got loads of flowers on the plants, so hopefully I’ll have lots of fruit. I fed all the tomatoes, aubergines, chillies, melons, cucumbers and cape gooseberries with tomato feed yesterday, so hopefully they’ll put on a spurt of growth.

  1. Tomato feed. hey? I’ll remember that. Thanks for the tip Claire. Hope you have a bumper crop. I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting a home grown cucumber yet. We are a bit too south for the heat loving crops: not enough hot days, but we are going to try all the tricks this year. It is warming up fast here although it should be the middle of Winter. Having said that we will probably get a cold snap. It is drizzly and dull today so I am going to stay inside and quilt. Cant wait to start getting the beds ready.
