Thursday 22nd May 2014 – All my Tomatoes are potted up, yay!!

I had a bit of time before I needed to start dinner, so I went and hid in the greenhouse to pot on my “San Marzano” Tomatoes. There were quite a few of them, and because I’d left them a bit longer in the seed tray, they were a little larger than usual. Still that was not a problem, you just had to make the hole you make in the pot is a bit deeper. I potted up a load for me (all the best ones) in individual 3 inch pots, then put the next best ones by for my sister and the allotment plant sale at the weekend. So that’s all the Tomatoes done, what’s next? I’ll let you know soon.

Have you ever grown what we in the States refer to as Heirloom Tomatoes? Amazing stuff.

    • There are so many Tomatoes to choose from, I’m gradually working my way through them. I think I may well look at Heirlooms for next year, there are some wonderful ones out there.

Hi Claire, i follow all the lovely things you do and wish I had the time to do so much. I have a greenhouse now, but a couple of storms came through and destroyed all my seedlings and some of the greenhouse, so I started all over and they are doing well. A bit behind though.I’m inspired by you and hope your garden will be wonderful and bountiful as usual. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

    • Don’t worry if you’re a bit behind, the plants will soon catch up. Sounds like you had bad storms though, if your greenhouse got broken. The allotment is going well, I’m very busy down there, but I have a wonderful husband who works really hard so I can stay at home and look after the kids and do what I want to do with my day. I do work part time, but fortunately it’s very quiet with work this term, so I can spend more time with my plants.
