Thursday 19th May 2016 – Cabbages, Rhubarb, Radish and Spinach

Another busy day on the allotment, and another split day on the allotment. I spent about 40 minutes this morning cutting grass and weeding one of my Rhubarb beds. It’s got a bit over grown since we had all that rain a week ago. I managed to get most of it done before I went again to the Odeon, this time to see “Spotlight”. Brilliant film and the way they broached the subject was done with such sensitivity. Afterwards I went back to my allotment and planted out 36 Cabbage plants. Make sure you protect from slugs and snails from below and from birds from above. Once that was done I harvested the first of my Rhubarb. I’m sure I’ll be harvesting loads more as the season goes on. Then before I came home I sowed another line of Spinach “Samish F1” and Radish “Bright Lights“. I spent nearly 3 hours on my allotment today and managed to get loads done. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as successful.
