Monday 9th May 2016 – Oh my goodness, I’ve done all my Tomatoes!!

It’s taken me a while to pot all my Tomatoes on into 3 inch pots. Well I did sow lots of different varieties this year. This afternoon I managed to finish the last ones off. I’m very excited. I’ve potted up 18 “Black Opal” and 27 “Cherry Snow White”. So looking back at the numbers, this year I have…..oh dear me….226 tomato plants!! Lots of different varieties, so lots of different sizes, shapes and colours! I’ll keep you posted on their progress and show you the next step when I come to it.

Claire, goodness gracious where are you going to grow all those tomatoes? Blight is a problem in the UK so how in the world are you going to keep them all in the green house. I thought I was over growing with 38 tomatoes when I only need 14. Hail came through last night and destroyed the tomatoes I had planted outside. It’s why I always have more than I need. I’ll be replanting in a couple weeks. I have some that are about ready to put outside. The watermelon and pumpkin seeds are coming up and were safely in the back of my truck in the garage last night. I haven’t been to Terra Nova Gardens which is about nine miles away from where I live. It might have dodged the hail and the tomatoes there could be ok. But if not, I have more to replant there as well. Have a great day on the allotment.
