Tuesday 19th April 2016 – Starting the Onions and Carrots.

I had the whole day free today which doesn’t happen very often! And the sun was shining and it was very warm, which was even better. So I decided to take lunch with me to the allotment. I had a lot planned for the day and wanted to get as much done as possible. Today I was going to see how many of my Onions and Carrots I could get in. I plant both of these together, because they’re the perfect pairing as they deter the nasty flies from plague the other one. I managed to get quite a few planted but not all that I took down because I had to dig over the bed before hand, and this take quite a while. The varieties of Carrots that I sowed today were “Rainbow mix of many Colours“, “Yellowstone F1” and “Autumn King 2”. After being on my allotment for just over 3 hours I was exhausted and needed to go home and get cleaned up before Mark and I went off to the cinema. The perfect end to the perfect day.
