The kids are now on Summer Holidays, so I’m only going to be able to pop down to the allotment for a maximum of a couple of hours at a time now. Still it’s not a problem as I’ve got most of my plots sorted and it’s only wedding, harvesting, watering and feeding to do. If there are any problems at home I can leave what I’m doing and come home within 5 minutes. When I go down, I leave a little list of things I’d like the kids to do. Nothing major, but just little things to help out with the chores at home. They both did exactly what I asked, so they could have a special lunch. When I got to my plots this morning, I realised that I’d left both my trowels at home (I have one for the allotment and one for home). This was a bit of a pain, because I was hoping to do a substantial amount of weeding. Still the soil was soft, so I was able to pull up any weeds that I could, and will get the tricky ones next time I’m down. I sowed some more Sugar Snap Peas and Pea “Kelvedon Wonder” Hopefully these should be producing soon, because we do go through a fair few of these. I also watered various seeds that I sowed last week, and the Radish are already coming up. As I was moving some soil to plant some more Sugar Snap Pea seeds, I noticed a very hairy caterpillar. I think he’s a hibernating one, because he kept trying to hide in the soil.
When I got home I was welcomed by a wonderful sight of one of my Lillies in full bloom. I think they are wonderful flowers, but beware of their stamens they will mark your clothes.
Well that’s all for today. I’d better go and put the allotment trowel in my allotment bag ready for next time I’m on my plot. I may get an hour or so tomorrow, otherwise it’ll be Wednesday.
Awesome update thank you for sharing Claire have a blessed day
