   Hi Claire, love your blog. Could I ask for some advice/opinion. We took on an unloved allotment earlier this year and this first year has been weeding, weeding, potatoes, potatoes, weeding… Now we are hoping for a more productive year 2015 & thinking how we should arrange the plot. Would you section it with grass in between areas or just leave gaps of earth between? People have done both at our allotment. Plus any other advice greatly appreciated!!! Thanks jenny

     The answer to your question depends on how much time you have. Grass paths look lovely, but are quite high maintenance. It is good to have devision between the beds as it makes moving around them much easier. What I would suggest is making wood chip paths. Make sure you put down some weed suppressant before you put a thick layer of chips down. This makes low maintenance paths and they look smart. If you know a tree surgeon who can get you some chips for free even better. Hope this helps. Good luck with your new plot xx
