Wednesday 18th July 2012 – On yer bike!

Mark is away for a couple of days and has taken the car with him, so I had to use a bit of pedal power this morning. It’s actually on a very slight down hill cycle to the allotment, therefore on the way home when you’re knackered it’s not that easy. However, I got down early as they’re forecasting rain, and managed to do loads more of the path, weed a load more and put in the last few broccoli and pumpkin plants. There was a slight shower, but nothing much to worry about, then just as I was about to leave it started to rain a little harder, but soon stopped. Hopefully I’ll be able to get down tomorrow and do a bit more. One child breaks up tomorrow and the other on Friday, then it’s 6 weeks of summer holidays.

Torrential downpours here in Warwickshire. My angel breaks up on Friday and he is devastated at the loss of his radishes to mice over the weekend 😦

    • I hope the weather is better for you today. Sorry to hear about your little ones radishes. You still have loads of time to sow more, maybe put them in a large trough pot and bring them in at night to protect from the mice. That or put loads of mice traps with cheese around the radish patch.

You should have a juicer down on the allotment Claire and then you can make a nice refreshing drink for on the way home 🙂
