Wow!! The weather must have been listening yesterday as we woke up this morning to sun!! I know, I was wondering what this round shiny thing was in the sky. No rain so far today, I must admit it’s a weird feeling. I managed to get to the allotment this morning, joy of joy’s. However, the weeds have taken hold because of the rain, but never mind. I planted some kohl rabi, asparagus peas, tomatoes and kale. I also managed some strimming (then I ran out of fuel) and some weeding. I feel invigorated now. I made some more films also, what a busy morning.
I’m now getting ready for my trip to Gardeners’ World. I’ll be there on Saturday from beginning to end drifting between Gardeners’ World and the Good Food halls. If you see me come and say “Hi!” But before I get there I’m spending a few days with my grand parents in Manchester.

Coming to Manchester, Claire? Hope you are prepared for more rain. My allotment is ready to float off down the Mersey, but at least the spuds like it. Have a great weekend, you deserve it.
I’ve got my wellies in the car, just incase. I’m sure I’ll take loads of photos and then get Mark to put them all together in a little film.
Oooh I think you should come to visit my plot if you’re up this way then 🙂 how about doing a claires allotment on tour video?? Hee hee.
Xx
Claire’s allotment on tour, oh that would be a fun venture. Maybe it’s something I could look at another time. Have a great year.
It had been in the 90’s I would like to give you some of our weather burns some my plants I had to go buy some more. I have question some kind of pest is at my cabbages it is not slugs it is all over the leave not in one spot I put out the post and wet them and there no slugs in them when you sun came up.
In the 90’s, that’s hot. Very occasionally it gets up to that here, but we’re lucky if we see the mid 80’s. As for you cabbages, it might be caterpillars. They eat the leaves also. Have a look under the leaves and see if you can find any. If you do find some, you’ll have to spray. Go to the garden centre and see what they recommend.
It would be nice to see that round shiny thing in the sky here, everyday that I have off from work it is pouring down, so have not been on the plot for nearly two weeks!
We got the shiny thing in the sky today. It came and went, but it didn’t rain. The next 2 days are supposed to be lovely. I hope you’re able to get to your plot then.
