Hands off our allotment space Eric Pickles!!

Now there are so many things I want to say to this man, which I won’t say on here, as I don’t think it’s appropriate, but I would urge as many of you as possible to sign this petition, and then to retweet or the equivalent to others. Please click here for the link. Allotment space is precious and should not be taken. So many sites are being lost to developers, and it must stop! So sit down with a cup of tea and a biscuit and sign the petition. But please don’t claim your refreshments on expenses.

I can’t find anything to confirm that this is a current move by Eric Pickles. He mooted the idea of releasing councils from their obligation to provide allotments in 2011 and I think this petition has been got up on the basis of very old news. If you know of any current move by him, could you add the link?

  In August 2013 Farm Terrace Allotments in Watford have won their battle with Eric Pickles to stop him from building homes on their allotment site. This has been going on for several years. Eric Pickles in 2011 wanted to review the allotment law. Look at the Independent paper for todays date and it gives you more information.
