Monday 24th March 2014 – Got to burn off all that food!

After a food filled weekend, I need to burn it all off up the allotment. I ate so much over the weekend, I put on 2lbs! It may not seem much, but it’ll soon add up. Anyway, I’m not going back to “play” in the gym, I much prefer the allotment for that. So I dug over another rather large bed and covered it with manure. I also wood chipped more paths, and dug up the remains of my Salsify.…and a rogue potato which is jacket sized. So that’s a start. There weren’t many of us on site today, maybe it was a little chilly for some. But there were some new plot holders being shown around. The first thing that came to my mind was that scene from Matilda, when Miss Trunchbull says “Ah! Fresh meat!” Hopefully I’ll see them again soon, I’m not sure which plots they were being shown.

Woodchip paths? You’ve gone all posh since I last saw videos of your plot. I think we need a pre-season tour of the plots Clairey. 😊 xxx

  The grass paths were very high maintenance, and as we get wood chips for free delivered to the site that’s just a bonus. I will have to give you a pre season tour of the plot, but I’ve got to do a bit of weeding first.
