Well we got back from Spain yesterday evening at about 8.30pm, and it was dark, so not really suitable to go down to the allotment. So after a wonderful sleep, we had breakfast, and I got dressed and hurried down to the allotment to say “Hello” and see what had been going on while I was away. A huge amount as it turned out. Apparently we’d had loads of rain, and so all my sister had to water was the greenhouse. I took what I thought would be a box big enough to put anything I picked in, but as it turned out was far from it. I started at one end, and worked my way systematically through, taking what we’d need to the next 6 days or so. I harvested the following: Potatoes, Onions, Garlic, Cucumber, Kohl Rabi, Squash, Baby Corn, Fennel, Tomatoes, Cabbage, more Tomatoes, and yet more Tomatoes, Runner Beans, Green french Beans, Purple French beans, Carrots, more Tomatoes, more Carrots, Cucamelons, Spanish Squash, Courgettes, more Tomatoes, and Popcorn. Having heaved my goodies to the car I then drove home I started to sort it all out, but not before I popped to the greenhouse to see what I could find. I did harvest more potatoes, but couldn’t fit them on the freezer, but needless to say we should have enough til wednesday of next week.
Excellent, Claire!! I can imagine the delicious meals, you’ll cook the coming days, for your family, with all these goodies!!
I hope you had a great time on your vacations this summer.
Have a nice day.
We had a lovely time, thanks. Very relaxing. Now it’s back to the norm, whatever that is. Kids are back to school next week.
Awesome Claire hope you enjoyed the holiday with your mum and dad in Spain and what a bumper crop you do have
We all had a great time. I was surprised by what I came home with from the allotment. Hopefully it’ll keep us going for a while.
