Friday 19th April 2013 – Bare rooted Black Current.

A lovely lady called Ros gave me 3 small “Bare rooted” black currents. “Bare rooted” means that they’re just the plant, and no soil, so basically the roots are bare. I do love currents, whether they’re white, red or black. I’ve just put each of them in a pot, and when they get a bit bigger they’ll go in the allotment. As it’s a new thing, I also made a quick film about them. Also, my Asparagus have been soaking for 48 hours now, so I also planted those.

    • It’s always a nice surprise to find out what you have, if you’ve forgotten. A neighbour gave me a fruit tree a few years ago. It had a peach label on it, but it turned out to be an apple.
