Is it actually illegal to grow these. I mean if they grew it as a shrub, and didnt make use of it for — ahem, ‘medicinal’ reasons, why should it not stay put.
I think the police would frown on any growing of it, however small, and for what ever reasons. Can you imagine cutting a bit and popping some on the BBQ….wow they’d be great bangers.
My husband told me about this – what a shock for that poor couple (but kind of funny too)! I heard of your blog via UK Veg Gardeners and I wished I had found you sooner! I’m going to have a look at your YouTube videos too. I don’t have an allotment unfortunately (waiting lists sooooo long) so I dug up some of my back garden instead a couple of years ago and use that. Still very much the novice gardener but that for me is half the fun – learning new things all the time!
I’m sure they laughed about it afterwards. I think the police knew it was an honest mistake. I’m always learning new things all the time, that’s the great thing about gardening, you never know it all. I hope you manage to get an allotment. Sometimes you have to give the Council a bit of a nudge. Have a great season.
