Friday 13th July – “All peas today, and no bad luck.”

I decided that attempting any work today up the allotment would be a waste of time as heavy showers were forecast. I was right. So I only popped up today to pick some mangetout and some asparagus peas. I got quite a few asparagus peas, they’re coming along very nicely. The mangetout however, are coming to the end, but I may get a second flush if the sun shines and it warms up. I was a little peckish, so I picked another pea pod and ate the contents. If any of them actually reach home is anyones guess, the way I’m going I’ll end up eating them all on site.

Best way to eat peas, do you think your crops have suffered this year because of the weather, some of my allotment friends say yes but im not so sure.

    • I don’t think the peas have suffered with the weather this year. So far I’ve had the best crop I’ve ever had. The mangetout were earlier, and are now finished. I may get a 2nd flourish, but I’ll have to wait and see. I think it depends on when and where you planted your peas.
