I also bought this seed this year and I’m going to give it a try here in Canada. Sounds yummy and I’m always up for trying something new. I never thought to start them indoors first so as to get a head start I’ll try it also. great tip, thanks!!

First year on our allotment and this was on my ‘let’s have a go’ list. The shots are now about 4 inches and fanning out in their individual pots. I get the impression however that these are a marmite plant, you will either love them or hate them. This has made me a little apprehensive but there also seem to be a multitude of ways to eat them, from boiled directly on site with lemon and salt, to a key ingredient in curry dishes. I’d be really interested to hear what you both think once your asparagus peas are ready.

    • The asparagus peas are growing well, and I’ve started to get the first flowers on them. When I harvest them I’ll let you all know what they’re like I expect a video will be made. I hope you’re having fun on your allotment, it’s certainly very addictive and if I don’t go down for a couple of days I start to get withdrawal symptoms.
