My red onions arrived through the post to day, so I spent the afternoon cutting up toilet rolls and planting them all. There’s quite a few. I hope they’ll keep me going for a while. I also potted up my Courgettes, I think I’ve got about 6 of each, and various varieties, so I’ll have loads of Courgettes again. Every year, it doesn’t matter what the weather is like they always do really well.

    Courgettes ( or Zuccini as we call them) are the most giving of all plants in the garden. The more you pick the more you get and the more you get the more your neighbors dread to see you and your basket full of more “give aways”. And I always plant plenty of them. Happy planting

    I’m amazed that you transplant so many different things: it seems most things beyond cole crops and vines have “direct sow” on our packets. I really enjoyed your videos and your blog. We were in England during the 60’s (in the USAF) and we loved the country and the friendly people. M

      I spend most of the Spring in the greenhouse. But I’m happy there. With our climate being a bit hit and miss, it’s far safer to start things off under cover. We get frosts from October to the end of May, so the tender crops can’t go out until the beginning of June, then it’s a mad rush to get it all in for the Summer. At the moment I’m preparing all the rest of the beds for the tender crops to go in. I’ve got a month to get everything sorted, I should just about make it.
