Went up to the allotment today, wasn’t sure if the rain would hold, but it did all day and we’ve not had a drop of rain. It did get very grey and there were 2 rather large rumbles of thunder which I wasn’t too impressed about. An allotment isn’t the place you want to be in a thunder storm, much like a golf course. I manages to tidy quite a few beds. I’m working through them systematically. Need to get some horse manure soon. Lovely.

It is a dull drizzly day today…perfect for the plants. Are your thunderstorms strong?

    • I heard 2 rumbles, apparently there was a flash of lightning, but I never saw that, otherwise I’d have run straight for the car. Don’t get me wrong, I like thunderstorms, but don’t like to be in an exposed area when they’re about.

We’ve been getting some wonderful rain last few days here in Arkansas, Claire..makes my poor munched on tomato plants put out new leaves and a few blossoms and the okra looked gigantic which was quite tender when cutting them up for the freezer and not tough at all..its odd but sometimes the smaller ones can be tough so i split them a little and let them dry out for seeds..I have a few squash plants that did not die putting on blossoms but not fruiting since the change in weather but I’m hoping they will pollinate and make something before cold weather gets here..Im so glad that hot summer is over..had 36 days of heat >100F. so thats why the gardens did not do well this yr. Hurry w/another video, I sure enjoy them. =) Angie

    • I’ve filmed 3 videos this week, so hopefully Mark’ll be able to get them done this weekend. The kids are back to school, so I’m down the allotment tidying and getting ready for the winter. Glad that the weather has cooled down for you. The okra sound fab, enjoy.
