Picked loads of raspberries today, ate some whilst picking. They just made their way to my mouth and I was eating them before I knew it, honestly! They’re very sweet and yummy. Don’t think I’ll make jam with them, just eat them with some ice cream. If your mangetout go too far, just leave them on the plant and treat as peas. Some of mine have gone that way, they taste great either way.

Glad to here you are enjoying the fruits of your labors. Our raspberries have already gone here, but I picked about a quart of blackberries tonight. They are destined for a cobbler, somewhat similar to your crumble. If your mangetout is the same as our zuchinni, pick some small ones, about four inches, slice into coins 1/8 inch thick, dip in beaten egg, roll in cornmeal seasoned with salt and pepper and drop into hot oil. Fry until crispy and drain on a paper towel. Great with ketchup. Truly southern US eating.

    • What you call zuchinni we call courgettes. Shall try the recipe you suggest, sound great. The kids will have ketchup, I’m not a fan of it, so I’ll dip in some other sauce. Mangetout I think you call sugar snap peas.

  2. Mmmm I remember the taste of first raspberries. Definitely with icecream or cream.
